Pros
Up until now, the option to work at home greatly increased flexibility, productivity, and work life balance.
Cons
The recent mandate to eliminate ANY opportunity to work at home shows how out of touch leadership is, and how they are taking the company backwards and have zero concern for employees. Lack of organizational announcements when people are laid off, etc., shows the lack of transparency leadership operates with. Forcing people who have successfully worked at home for years into the office is a joke - they say it's to increase "collaboration" - news flash: when you don't work directly with anyone in your area in the office, you're not going to "collaborate" with anyone else in the office. Forcing me into a tight cube with uncomfortable furniture and florescent lighting surrounded by people listening to headphones or talking on phone calls is going to do nothing but decrease productivity, flexibility, and any desire to continue working here. Why fix something that isn't broken? Reports of the CFO team reviewing badge swipes and in-desk sensors to monitor how long you are away from your desk only adds to the new culture of employees being treated like children and prisoners. Overall culture and morale has never been worse.
