Pros

Possibly Benefits although they aren't competitive among other Health insurance companies

Cons

In Connecticut, Anthem BCBS CT's local plan seriously is one of the most racially out of touch workplaces probably in America. In my experience at Anthem BCBS CT local plan, anyone who wasn't white but happened to be in a leadership position was almost without exception marginalized and discriminated against(not too worry, any local leader of color or non white nationality already left). Aside from the fake gestures of tolerance, the environment in general was hostile to anyone who didn't follow the distinct and deeply embedded racial heirachy that exists there . The white leadership at the local plan had a very public falling out with some of the black leaders there which only emboldened many of the white leadership syncophantic subordinates to act more racially intolerant. In general, if you're white you were treated like family and were part of a buddy system and if you weren't , you were always a target of any backhanded petty criticisms/microagressions. In short Anthem BCBS CT is a shameful hotbed of white privilege run amuck.

Cons

Pay rate never really goes up. Prefer to promote inexperience outsiders than from within. Low pay At the whim of Manager Favoritism Political Pretentious Metrics based of friendship with Management Hard to move up of you don’t suck up to a Manager or be political or be part of their click and group. QIP is also at the whim of the manager. Faulty metrics where you are blamed for FCR failures even when you fixed the issue on your first call and but because the member called in multiple times to other associates who didn’t help. Or do their job, they blame you for first call resolution when you never talked to the member till you resolved it. This is really messed up and it affects your QIP.
