Prior to COVID-19, this job definitely had its downfalls - poor upper management, suspicious CEO, limited growth opportunities, no flexibility in hours, etc. During this global pandemic, however, it has become clear that upper management and the CEO of this company DO NOT care about their employees. I would NEVER recommend anyone work for Elizabeth Seton Children's, especially the Children's Rehab Center located in White Plains. I am pediatric therapist and although I love the population of children, I cannot in good conscience let people believe this is a good place to work. Since the start of the COVID-19 outbreak, us therapist have had little support and protection from upper management. While the Yonker's location, where the corporate offices are located, was given utmost security and protection, the White Plains Rehab Center was IGNORED. Instead of getting words of encouragement or thanking staff for continuously sacrificing our well-being by working, we got threats of bankruptcy/being laid off, accusations of not seeing enough patients, and demands to persuade families to leave their homes for non-urgent/non essential OT/PT/ST. When the entire nation was urging people to stay home and attempt to flatten the COVID-19 curve, our CEO fought to make us essential so that we could remain open and risk contracting/spreading the virus. In addition, there is no proper equipment or essential supplies to protect us. Although the CEO loves to state the importance of following the mission and speak on how everything we do embodies 'CORE Values' it is hard to believe that this is true when it is apparent she does not care about the children we treat or her employees. During a global crisis, employees should be supported and assured that they are a priority, not threatened and dismissed. Elizabeth Seton Children's should be ashamed of how they are treating their therapist. Everyday, we leave work frustrated, tired, and unable to comprehend how insensitive the CEO, HR, Finance, and upper management are being towards our needs. I can personally say this place broke me - it broke my spirit, the love I had for my job/profession, my drive to help others, and my ability to be an amazing therapist. Let the lack of support from the CEO and upper management during this pandemic define Elizabeth Seton Children's as terrible organization for decades to come.
