Pros

I have worked at Elsevier twice now, in two different capacities. I can honestly say that the company offers great flexibility, managers fully understand the work-life balance and are prepared to make allowances for colleagues to make their lives easier. There is a definite sense that what you say, whether good or bad, is taken on board and considered towards any possible change to internal structures. The technology is excellent - elsevier is continually making great strides to make sure that colleagues are supported by great systems/features to make the job easier. People also genuinely seem happy to work there and are keen to chat and have a laugh, which is not the case everywhere.

Cons

Workload can sometimes be overwhelming, and a little stressful. Some team leaders and colleagues can be a little arrogant and pompous, but they are the minority.

We are pleased that you see Elsevier as a wonderful place to work. Regarding workload, we want all our employees to feel empowered and so they are always encouraged to discuss any issues with their managers. Only constant and genuine dialogues can provide a great working environment for everyone.

Pros

-Great company -Team has talented, experienced account managers and product experts who know the territory well

Cons

West team management is heavy on micromanagement and sets unrealistic territory targets without rep input — high turnover, and long tenure in company seems to shield this manager from accountability and growth
