Pros

Hours are good Friendly and helpful team members

Cons

Thrown into the deep end ZERO flexible working policy - no idea when we can/if we can work from home. Different for each team as some teams have members working from home regularly whilst others have no clear idea if they are able too. Workload is heavy and often unappreciated. Often people will leave and not be replaced, instead you are forced to pick up the work and do extra for no recognition or additional pay. No clear progression within publishing. No idea where to aim for or what to do to get to the next level. No training whatsoever, instead of training new employees how to use systems or help them with their jobs the company instead teach staff about the company with no training or help on what to do to do your actual role. Often left to discover things on your own and work out how things work. Too many systems to try and get used too. Nothing links up and it is hard. No creativity or freedom within role. It isn’t encouraged to try new things if they don’t fit ‘the Elsevier way’ you have no chance.

We want to be clear that the con issues raised here do not show the culture or the organization we continue to build as we grow our brand and people. Pros

-Great company -Team has talented, experienced account managers and product experts who know the territory well

Cons

West team management is heavy on micromanagement and sets unrealistic territory targets without rep input — high turnover, and long tenure in company seems to shield this manager from accountability and growth
