Pros

Factory workers and tool engineers are largely down to earth and willing to teach you hands-on skills. Abundance of problems with the way everything is run gives you good insight.

Cons

Company has a history of bleeding skilled engineers. Newer engineers will be the ones to train you but the company won't pay to train them either. Senior engineers still around are checked out and have internalized the slow work culture. Production is toxic and the office is toxic, both environments bleed into each other. Veterans gossip constantly and it's distracting.

Pros

Great job with minimal experience in industrial sales. On-the-job training and management at this level have great upside, with the ability to earn a high commission rate.

Cons

The larger organization is siloed and slow-moving. Finding opportunities to network and grow in this position is up to the individual employee.
