Pros
In my experience I have had great maternity leave options, flexible schedules, support for family life outside of work. I am also aware of lots of postdoc resources and the salaries for postdocs are strictly regulated to meet NIH paylines. The Administration and support staff has been wonderful as well.
Cons
I know that experiences vary based on who your boss is, even within the same department. There are not a lot of avenues for collaboration with biotech since the industry just isn't in Atlanta. Emory does not provide affordable or available childcare. The one daycare that is here has a wait list two years out. Come on emory, open a daycare!!!!
