Pros

Company is growing through acquisitions opening opportunities in different departments. Parent company has invested and will continue to invest in our company to ensure growth and keep us competitive in the marketplace. Pay is competitive with an extensive bonus program, affordable benefits, work life balance perks, and a 6% match on 401k. Financial wellness and retirement success are top of mind and employees receive free investment advice and account management. Regular information sessions with Q & A on retirement preparedness, Social Security, health care costs in retirement, how HSA's work and the benefits, and many more financial wellness topics. A great employee recognition program where you can give and receive points for the work that you do and the contribution you make, with points that can be used for a wide variety of purchases and gift cards. This encourages us to recognize others and be recognized. Online requests for HR and IT with immediate response making asking questions and receiving assistance easy. Working remotely offers the opportunity to save on expenses that we previously incurred commuting to/from an office daily.

Cons

Innovation seems to stagnate in some departments with old and fixed mindsets taking hold. Compensation seems stagnate for longer term employees and compensation seems a little low for some niche positions. Work/Life balance has been a struggle at times due to acquisition and migration efforts. Advice to Management Continue promoting innovation and growth mindset and ensure that mid-level managers know how to encourage their staff. Continue to reinvest in the workforce by expanding opportunities for networking, mentorship, and advancement.

Pros

I like working here, I find the work life balance with this role to be ideal, and remote opportunities are regularly available at the company ever since the pandemic. Unlimited PTO and I don't have feel guilty to use it, team structure really helps when people are out of the office. Receive good salary for my part of the country, with yearly raises and bonus based on merit.

Cons

I don't have many cons, I would say it would depend on your manager, as is the case with most positions in this world. I've had amazing managers with my time here and some mediocre managers, but overall the job has been good enough to weather the storm of a bad boss.

Pros

Many smart people genuinely want to grow & succeed; An excellent long term strategic vision backed by long term oriented investors; Ample growth opportunities at a business that is very well positioned for long term growth. Leaders that genuinely care about their people. Remote work is truly an advantage - just the lack of a commute makes a large difference. Opportunity to be at the ground level of a company that will develop a much stronger national brand over the next decade.

Cons

Delivery & Execution are areas that are truly challenging in the high growth/evolutionary environment that Empower is in today. Cultural changes are happening within the business that create some competing priorities, though Sr. Leaders continue to lead through this. Working with people across the US means don't expect a normal schedule - early / late starts and working lunches are the norm.
