Pros

I've worked at Empower for over 25 years and seen the company grow from 500 employees to over 13,000. During that entire time, the company has always put their employees first (right after the clients). They understand that their most important resource is not computers or applications but rather its people. My coworkers are energetic, excited to solve issues and work together, and have a positive attitude. I've worked several places where people hate coming into work, but I've never seen that attitude from any of my coworkers. The culture and innovation is second to none and the leadership is strong. Our values are not just a poster, but a way of life from the top down. We truly value diversity and are a leader in the industry. While other firms have pulled their teams back into the office, we continue to allow for 100% remote work which creates a great work/life balance and allows us to hire and retain the best talent. I've always enjoyed my job and the challenges it brings. Empower is truly different from the rest.

Cons

I no longer have access to the free coffee/hot chocolate machine as I'm full-time remote.

Pros

I like working here, I find the work life balance with this role to be ideal, and remote opportunities are regularly available at the company ever since the pandemic. Unlimited PTO and I don't have feel guilty to use it, team structure really helps when people are out of the office. Receive good salary for my part of the country, with yearly raises and bonus based on merit.

Cons

I don't have many cons, I would say it would depend on your manager, as is the case with most positions in this world. I've had amazing managers with my time here and some mediocre managers, but overall the job has been good enough to weather the storm of a bad boss.

Pros

Many smart people genuinely want to grow & succeed; An excellent long term strategic vision backed by long term oriented investors; Ample growth opportunities at a business that is very well positioned for long term growth. Leaders that genuinely care about their people. Remote work is truly an advantage - just the lack of a commute makes a large difference. Opportunity to be at the ground level of a company that will develop a much stronger national brand over the next decade.

Cons

Delivery & Execution are areas that are truly challenging in the high growth/evolutionary environment that Empower is in today. Cultural changes are happening within the business that create some competing priorities, though Sr. Leaders continue to lead through this. Working with people across the US means don't expect a normal schedule - early / late starts and working lunches are the norm.
