Pros

Working within the residence of the patients getting to really know them.

Cons

Had high hopes. Helped setup at a new location, was expected to screen to get patients pressured to refer even if not needed. Hours not guaranteed. Due to providers not willing to refer to us, there was limited census and I was ‘let go’ with two week notice, with last two weeks only given 6hrs a week. Trying to expand before area was ready. Weeks later when I try to ask about benefits and get a letter confirming my benefits ending,(health insurance cobra) I get no response from emails or calls. Now I have difficulty with ins coverage due to their lack of response. Felt used and discarded.

Thank you so much for reaching out. We’re so sorry this was your experience with us; that certainly was not our goal. No matter how much preparation goes into the partnerships we build with the senior living communities we serve, sometimes things just don't work out as planned. We're genuinely disappointed that our working relationship ended on such a sour note – we wish you nothing but the best in your future professional endeavors. On the subject of your benefits, if we were less than responsive to your calls for support, then we do want to try to make things right, if that's still possible. Please contact our front desk line, and we will do all that we can to help.

Pros

The work is satisfying. Working in ALF is great because it is working in their own home setting.

Cons

You are dependent on the rehab director of the building to help build the caseload, and often times they do not get compensation that motivates them to do that. The area directors do not have a good pulse on what the clinic director is actually doing; it’s not managed well.
