Pros

Empyrean can be a good place for new college grads with a certain profile. The prized employee at Empyrean is all about their career and willing to give up a lot of personal time to advance, which can be great for a young single person and less so for those with families, lots of hobbies, or a rich social life outside of work. This could be a pro or a con depending on who you are. Casual dress code is appreciated by most employees. You'll be issued a laptop, which comes in handy when you're busy and want to finish up a late night at home instead of at the office. If you have a decent manager, they'll listen to your opinions and let you have some say in how things get done. Meeting client usually results in some good knick knacks.

Cons

The prized employee plays well with others, and often attend happy hours and after-work informal functions with coworkers. You’re encouraged to do it all. Be great at client-facing and learn the system well enough to do work that the development team does so that you can accommodate very tight deadlines for clients. This becomes a bad thing when a person that has skills in a lot of areas, or is on a small client team is expected to do more than their fair share and becomes overwhelmed. PTO can be hard to schedule, especially around open enrollment periods. You can be seen as a bad employee for taking time off around the holidays unless you’re on a larger client team that can fill your role or a manager. The sheer volume of e-mails and issues that you’re bound to come back to make it hard to take time off at nearly any of time year. These things all sound like no big deal on the surface, but my personal experience was more negative than positive. I found the people to be very clique oriented, gossipy, and overly-competitive. There’s a lot of adolescent behavior that goes on as far as talking behind people’s backs, and flirting. That can really happen anywhere, but I think that it’s pretty rampant at Empyrean because of the average age.

Pros

Trainers and RM's are supportive. Plus the work life balance is the only pros I can think of

Cons

Pay for BSA is WAY less than average salary of a Business Systems Analyst. The managers, they would be nice to my face and share limited feedback but will come up with a ton of "Concerns" when meeting my RMs. Consider yourself lucky if you are assigned any group other Rosser. People might differ, but I had terrible experience with them. hey will not let you grow and have selective biasness. They would make you work your sweat off during the busy season while the management enjoys holidays, come back and put you on coaching plan simply because you "couldn't deliver". Wow
