Pros
The job is fairly easy when it comes to chart review and documentation. You see between 5 and 7 patients a day, most of which you’ll have everyday, so once you do the eval, you don’t have to do any chart review after that. This is for full time/part time staff anyway.
Cons
These days the length of stay is pretty short, so patient turn over is quick. Like I said, pay is generally not great, so they have a hard time holding onto employees, especially in the nursing department. We’ve also been getting more and more patients that are medically complex, and occasionally not appropriate candidates for rehab, yet they still need to be seen for 15 hours a week.
