Lack of training, favoritism, new hires making more than those there longer, understaffed, nurse/pt ratios to high with med surg like patients 8-10:1 instead of 7 suggested by ARN, aides 13+:1 instead of 9. Administrators don’t care about patient safety or employee or the satisfaction of either. Brings in admissions despite no staff to care for patients then get disciplinary action if a patient falls because you are understaffed and everyone is considered a high fall risk. Inexperienced managers in roles not experienced for but are handed to them. Administrators favor the male nurses for roles of authority and work less harder, and yet make more. It’s very much corporate where they only care about filling beds and making money. Then wonder why staff leaves. Regional manager are horrible and do not follow encompasses mission or standards. Difficult to climb ladder because favorites get put in positions instead of interviewed. Too much documentation to complete on a shift with so many patients and admissions, meetings, etc. staff set up for failure. Upper management doesn’t care about staff. Some upper management and other staff members can bully staff and get away with it. Employees are afraid of retaliation.
