Pros
-Benefits are great. -Opportunity to bring your staff to Staples Center to watch games and concerts is a big plus. -You constantly work with new audio visual technology. -Upper management is off your back as long as you meet the numbers. -If you do well in PSAV, you can be great at any company. They will groom you to succeed even after you leave the company.
Cons
-Constant changes in the systems you use makes you wanna pull your hair out of your head. -Labor forecasting benchmarks so high which forces managers to work long hours because they cannot afford to get any labor. -You will work with back-breaking equipment on a daily basis, but no back support, or any safety equipment offered by corporate office. -If you are assigned as a Director of AV in a small property, the chances of getting promoted is slim unless you overwork yourself to meet and exceed benchmarks. Tendency is you ask to be transfered to a bigger property. Only issue on that move is the bigger the property, the crazier the workload is, and the more demanding the events will become. The more they pay you, the more stressful your job description becomes.
