Pros
Depending on the location and director, you might have decent autonomy to work at your own pace.
Cons
-Inconsistent hours -Low pay -Shortsighted company policy implementations -Old/low quality gear -Minimal training opportunities -Condescending and spiteful corporate leadership, i.e. 'put up with exploitative practices or get the whip' types of treatment. -Does not honor their own policies and if you force their hand in doing so, they will punish you. -Oftentimes grueling manual labor -Constantly varying schedule that is made only a week in advance -Overcharges clients more than any other vendor and you'll be on the frontline of explaining it away -I can keep going, but you should simply save your time and stay away. Find a smaller mom and pop AV supplier local to your city that is willing to train you and then join the local union chapter if you want to be treated with a modicum of respect in this industry. Encore should, and will likely have a class-action lawsuit against them soon.
