Pros

Pros are few. The people are what make this a great place to work. I've met some amazing people who work extremely hard to try and make it here as account managers. Most of the LCs are really great and will help you out as much as possible. 7-4 shift so you get home early. They try to do company activities that will make everyone feel more involved. You do get recognized for success.

Cons

Don't be fooled that this is a "sales" position. It's not a bad first time full-time corporate job opp but if you've got sales experience or pretty much any real job experience avoid the call center environment that is England Logistics. You are micromanaged with immense amounts of tracking and expected to make tons of phone calls to cold leads. And when I say cold leads, I mean cold hard leads. The ramp (sales goal attainment) is unsustainable. I asked to see it in the interview and thought it wasn't too bad but after a few months out on the floor I realized that the ever climbing and unattainable ramp will eventually push you out of a job. The turnover is high. Higher than any other company I've worked at before. Expect to lose leads you develop to Senior Account Managers after you work to build up dormant business accounts. When people are fired or quit the existing accounts are supposed to be divided equally among the rest of your team but are often given to whoever your manager likes the most. The job can be extremely stressful and for some often requires extra hours staying late or early or even coming in over the weekends. Part of that is because this is the transportation industry and things go wrong all the time. You have to take an after hours cell phone home with you for a week and work a Saturday once every few months without extra pay. The commissions are a joke for the amount of work required. Also, upper management seems to be quite out of touch with the people out on the floor doing the dirty work that brings in all the revenue. I could go on and on with other things but you get the idea. Most people on the floor start looking for new opportunities within a few months of starting the job. The daily grind is exhausting and usually extremely stressful.
