disorganized with horrible training - sink or swim culture - Assistant Paymaster Entertainment Partners Employee Review

Pros

remote work available, no micromanaging (for the most part), allowed to wear headphones, friendly co-workers, as much OT as you want

Cons

EP is crazy disorganized which is surprising considering it's a payroll company. training is not a priority and is done way too late in the game, this is a huge part of why customer service is so bad: the employees are assigned clients they have no idea how to service. months passed between my hire date and when I was actually put into a training team, by then, i'd already been assigned clients and handling tasks on my own. everyone who isn't an assistant works 4 day weeks instead of 5, getting either Monday or Friday off, contributing to the massive buildup of work and scramble to catch up. THIS IS A PAYROLL COMPANY, Monday and Fridays are the most important days of the week in this industry and most everyone with any kind of authority/knowledge has it off. pay is low for what the job requires, it seems like they introduce a new responsibility every day and it's impossible to keep up (they will expect you to though). it is possible to work OT which is nice but some managers expect it every day, all day so no little respect for work/life balance at this job. if you're a good employee, you will suffer from the curse of the competent: managers will see you keeping up with the work and dump more on until you can barely manage. and, like any client-facing job, clients can be rude and unreasonable. tl;dr: wildly unorganized and understaffed company that is always behind the 8ball and will expect you to live at your desk to keep up for low pay. you will be thrown in the ocean w/o so much as a paddle.

Pros

The team and my coworkers around me are incredible hardworking people

Cons

If you are looking for a payroll job, DO NOT WORK HERE. Here is a list of why you dont want to work at Entertainment Partners: 1. Severe underpay for amount of work assigned on a weekly basis 2. Upper management gives fake promises of promotions and career growth 3. CEO is killing the company by malpracticing basic business fundamentals which is tanking the company financially. 4. Lay offs are NOT performance based and have happened twice a year since 2023. If you are looking for an accounting or payroll job in the entertainment industry, please look at other companies such as Greenslate, Wrapbook and Cast & Crew. Its a shame that the CEO, Mark, is too far gone and doesnt learn from his mistakes. This company used to be one of the greatest in the industry. Now its a complete shell of its former glory.
