Pros
Health, dental and vision plans are fantastic here. I feel like senior management cares and is accessible and communicative. There is opportunity for advancement, internal promotion and horizontal moves are very common, and many of the groups are head by great managers who care about their employees. It's a stable company to work for with decent benefits and flexible scheduling depending on department. The view doesn't hurt either.
Cons
A great deal of your experience is highly dependent on what group you work for and not just because of your direct management. Some groups are grossly under paid for skilled for, others have difficulty with turn over, and some just can't get the support they need from other groups. However, there is a level of awareness of this by senior management and efforts have been made on some fronts, less so on others. Working with HR can be difficult since the department is so very small to support such a large company. This makes them feel inaccessible and unreliable. Senior management talks more about the values and culture of the company than they practice with us on a daily basis. I have no doubt they work hard, in fact our president works incredibly hard and we can see it daily. We do a fantastic job of projecting those values out and onto the customers and making their experience the best it can be and I'm very very proud of that. However, we sometimes neglect to give the same care for the people who make it possible in the first place. We forget our values aren't just for customers, it's supposed to be for us as well. If exceptional is normal, we're falling short, but I have confidence that with the right intervention we can overcome these growing pains.
