Pros

Very bright staff, summer Fridays

Cons

The organization grew by 50% in the last two years but didn't have anywhere near enough revenue to cover the cost. Conducting layoffs in March 2024 but already seeming to start a new hiring boom. Leadership absolutely blinded by ambition and ego. The org lacks the most basic financial controls. Wouldn't donate money here and wish I could find a job elsewhere. DEI and EJ commitments are far behind peer orgs.

Pros

A community of mission-driven staff who truly care about the planet and the causes that EDF advances. Extremely smart and kind staff. Incredible benefits, including a significant amount of company days off (summer Fridays, org shut-down for one week at the end of August, days off include Veteran's Day and Juneteenth); very generous benefits.

Cons

Out-of-touch top leadership, especially Executive Director, who pretends to be authentic and caring but isn't at all.
