      Pros

      Wonderful, smart, hardworking colleagues. Everyone is on their A game here but I also have run into very few big egos. The work is also engaging and varied - EDF seems to touch almost everything in the climate world. The pay and benefits are also very good for a nonprofit.

      Cons

      Upper leadership seems completely out of touch and uninterested/uninformed about the work actually happening on the ground. Dangling layoffs over everyone’s heads for five months (!) and then having no substantial or clear communication on the new org structure after the “reduction in force” felt beyond insulting. Morale is very low.

      Professional development seminars, lots of contact with supervisors, nice office space, flexible hybrid schedule

      Pros

      A community of mission-driven staff who truly care about the planet and the causes that EDF advances. Extremely smart and kind staff. Incredible benefits, including a significant amount of company days off (summer Fridays, org shut-down for one week at the end of August, days off include Veteran's Day and Juneteenth); very generous benefits.

      Cons

      Out-of-touch top leadership, especially Executive Director, who pretends to be authentic and caring but isn't at all.
