Pros

Management is approachable and get to work on very interesting projects and cross-functional between hydraulics and mechanical and electrical

Cons

Too many projects always being asked of you & marketing selling rigs of untested and unfinished designs. The job position descriptions took 3 years to even update.

Pros

I feel empowered to make the best decisions for my team without having to go through many layers of bureaucracy. I enjoy my team, coworkers, leaders and the culture. Our business unit is given a lot of autonomy to set our own engineering processes and product roadmaps instead of it being dictated from the top. I feel like I have many opportunities for growth.

Cons

Working for a huge company can have some challenges, particularly around IT related policies. Epiroc is a mostly mining company, not a tech company so some of the policies and infrastructure doesn't fully align with the work my team does, which is mostly software development. Working in the mining industry can come with some extra pressure since there is a lot of profit on the line by our customers and any issues that come up need a quick resolution.
