Pros

During training there is free food. They used to have a good set up with training but changed a few things and now some of the new recruiters could learn a bit more with some of the processes. C-levels are friendly. Some can say that its a bit micromanaged but the goals are very much achievable, if you just do your job. I will say that management can be too quick to turn to judgement on people. They should pay more.

Cons

There is two offices, Addison and Michigan. The Addison office is the step-child in the relationship. They do not have input on most things and are not shared the same information. One of the employees was supposed to be recognized for "top-gun" or "kudos" depending on which one term they wanted to use. Well he didn't end up getting it because they either just changed the rules or the rules were not fully explained to the Addison office. Just an example of the Addison office not getting the same love. The benefits suck unless you are in Michigan. For a single person outside of Michigan you will be paying $300 a month. They use Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, another reason why Addison is the step-child, plus all of the employees that are working nationally have to pay allot. The reason I was cut was because I did not sign a corporate training reimbursement form. They were going to send me and another Account Manager to Michigan for a sales training. Which I was perfectly fine with and would have loved to go on the trip to learn more and gain knowledge from my coworkers and a two day course. Then I received this email that seemed a tad bit threatening but not bad, just more of a shock, regarding the training reimbursement form. A few of the other Account Managers were not happy about it but we had to wait on the form to see what it said. The form stated that if Epitec were to terminate me with cause or if I were to leave with or without cause within 12 months then I would have to pay the cost of the training (which would have been about 2 1/4 paychecks). It did say that Epitec is investing in us, which doesn't make any sense if over a year I am going to be paying for it. These forms are not unheard of. One of the Account Managers stepped down to become a recruiter again because of it. A few more Account Managers in Michigan didn't want to sign it either but eventually had to. The only two Account Managers in Addison were let go. Now they did say that the reason for letting me go was misalignment of company culture. I am not explaining this because I am bitter that they let me go, but I am better because they let me go.

Building, Training and Developing teams to meet Delivery objectives is a critical departmental goal for Epitec's Delivery teams. Epitec engaged Visualize, the leading provider of the ValueSelling Framework, to provide training that would generate more opportunities for our sales team and for the company. We were disappointed that a few Sales team members did not see the value in this training. The investment to Epitec was more than $7500 per trainee, not including travel expenses. Epitec requested that the Sales team sign an agreement for less than half the cost of the training ($3,000) to be recouped only if they "voluntarily left the company". Then, the employee would agree to pay back the pro-rated amount of training dollars. For example it they resigned 6 months after the training was provided, then the employee would pay back 1/2 the training or 1/2 of $3000 = $1500. Epitec needed to know which Sales team members were invested in the training. The entire amount was paid by Epitec and only a portion would be based on retention of the employee. Epitec invests in its employees and believes in continuous training - it is cultural to the organization. We are a learning organization and training is core to learning and continuous improvement.
