Pros

Opportunity to experience politics in a corporate setting.

Cons

There is no work-life balance whatsoever. Managers who are "yes-men" are promoted after years of kowtowing to the senior leadership team (SLT). Employees are expected to work day and night, including weekends and holidays, just to meet expectations. Reviews are conducted quarterly or annually, but the company is very stingy about giving raises to existing workers. There is no career growth. Managers have to fight with HR to get a promotion. Employees are often stuck with meaningless tasks, and the SLT just quit when faced with failure. I was very disappointed with the lack of strategy and direction.

Pros

My direct manager. Comp plan if you’re lucky enough to find several whale clients, and if you’re lucky, the commission is approved.

Cons

There are a lot. First, office politics. Equifax expects employees to be very corporate and robotic. Metrics metrics metrics. 100% focused on revenue, not customers. Metrics, metrics, metrics. PIP overuse. Even when you’re 150% to yearly plan 6mo in, they expect 300%. Make sure to keep receipts. Senior management will find the most ridiculous ways to push reps out, continently right before a huge payout of a very delayed commission plan. (Sell something in Jan 2025, you will only get a fraction of commission until June 26). That’s if the exception committee approves payout (which never happens). If you sell a big deal, don’t expect to get paid 100% of what the plan says.
