Pros

Great "family oriented company", people really care about you. I'm often struck by how much time is spent talking about personal life. In fact just the other day I bumped into our CEO Steve Smith in the elevator and the first thing out off his mouth once I said hello was "How was your weekend?" - The CEO asking me about my weekend? AWESOME!!! Their charitable giving program and priorities are really amazing, matching your chosen charity contributions generously and prioritizing overall corporate giving towards internet access related projects at scale to ensure that ALL of earths citizens have an opportunity to participate in the educational and global marketplace advantages the world wide web has to offer. Obviously with 52 straight quarters of quarter over quarter growth and recent admission to S&P500 the company is going really well, which provides lots of opportunity for growth!

Cons

Still a start up feel after 17 years in business. Equinix is growing very fast and working in alignment from the front line to the board to install infrastructure to ensure success at scale.

Thank you for your very thoughtful review and for sharing your personal experience working at Equinix. How wonderful that you had a chance to meet Steve and share such a great moment in the elevator. We are thrilled to hear that you are taking advantage of some of the great Equinix Impact programs like the Equinix Impact Exchange, where the company will match your donations. We hope you will keep up the great work and continue being a supplier of positive energy at Equinix.

Company is strong financially. No chance of layoff. Many opportunities to work overtime if you want extra hours.

Pros

Hybrid which is nice, for what the job entails pay is ok I suppose at 60k. Every Wednesday there's food for employees.

Cons

Earlier in the year the frisco office was closed down, so many employees including myself who add living arrangements now have to travel 3 days a week to the downtown office. Which is 45 minutes + with traffic. On top of that the shift times suck as someone who appreciates work life balance. 7 am to 7 pm. I would also say that there are many organizational changes and career growth seems limited.
