Pros

Working as a personal trainer paid through the facility rather than independently, Equinox is one of the higher paid. Great benefits package- Insurance Good place to start and learn a lot about the fitness industry.

Cons

Even though they pay the higher than most gyms on the sessions you do, they are still taking up to 70% of the cost of the session. The sessions for the members are expensive, so it is hard to get some people to committ long term-making your salary unpredictable. It is hard to want to pull your weight when you are not taken care of- no base salary. You are given new member leads occasionally and access to the gym- therefore the members- but it is up to you completely to make this work. Maximum you can make an hour (after bonuses) would avg. out to around $50- sounds great but that means you have found 15 people to work with you at least 2 times a week- and they are purchasing sessions for $100. 15 steady people wanting to work at different times of the day takes a long time to achieve.
