Pros

Just the health benefits that's all. Working in a newer building.

Cons

Worked here for almost 5 years! Its going DOWN! Huge turnover of employees! Fewer sales meeting and less resident events The commission use to be great, but its not. Managers take all the renewals and they are greedy! Leasing consultants do ALOT of work, we should be compensated. Service team gets 35% off rent and we get 20%!! That is so unfair!! Onsite staff deal with alot of BS so we should get the same treatment. Equity is CHEAP! and they want to do everything in house so it creates a harder work environment for service techs and office members. Onsite members have to pay the lease breakage fee when we decide to break a lease. We shouldn't if we are buying a house. We need more perks.

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts, although it is difficult to hear of your frustrations. We would like to hear more about your concerns, and hope you will share your feedback and suggestions with your Regional Manager and/or a member of your local HR/OTD team. We did want to clarify what you stated about our rent discount. In the DC market, all full-time employees are eligible for a 25% rent discount (not 20%), and Service employees are offered 35% as an incentive to live on-site so that they are able to respond quickly to on-call emergencies. Please review the Employee Rent Discount page on ERNIE for more information, and contact your Regional Manager if you still have questions. Thank you again for your feedback.

Pros

Housing discount, strong portfolio exposure, opportunity to work across multiple communities, and valuable experience in a fast-paced leasing environment.

Cons

Management loves to preach “teamwork” until something goes wrong, then suddenly it’s every employee for themselves. Very documentation-heavy culture where certain managers seem to enjoy writing people up more than actually developing talent. Communication is inconsistent, accountability is selective, and favoritism is hard to ignore. Commission structure is shockingly low for the workload and expectations. Leadership often presents itself as organized and supportive, but behind the scenes there’s a lot of blame-shifting, targeting of employees, and policy confusion — especially regarding employee housing and lease transitions. My own experience at the end of my employee lease felt retaliatory and left a very negative impression.
