Pros
I feel obligated to write this review because the company has been fair to me. This is a good company to work for. Look, every workplace has some issues. That is why they call it "workplace" and not Disneyland. So while some people have commented less than favorably, it could be based on an isolated individual experience. Overall, the company genuinely cares for its employees. We have one of the best HR departments I have ever worked for. Benefits are good. Stress free. Company is focused on improving employee physical health. We have a basketball court, a walking trail, on site GYM, fitness challenge classes. Yearly fitness fair for the whole family. My mental and physical health has greatly improved as a result of this company. Dont think that I am too biased about ERCOT. I was almost part of a layoff that happened several years ago. That is the reality of a workplace. Still I have no regrets and feel grateful for having the opportunity to work here. Job is very stable. Layoffs are rare. Pay is above average. Benefits are excellent. Guaranteed bonus (10% of paycheck) every year (vested after three years). 401k matching. Flex time, and more. Beat that!
Cons
We dont necessarily use the latest technology. Taylor location. Transferable skills might be limited depending upon the area you work. This is the nature of working in the electric industry.
