Pros

The coworkers are generally great to work with, as are the doctors. Challenging level 1 trauma. Making a difference to some of the poorest people in the region.

Cons

Management, no doubt. Low salaries, despite challenging environment at a level one trauma center. Zero paid holidays, you're forced to use PTO anytime you take off, even during holidays when your department is closed. Management makes ridiculous salaries and bonuses while RNs have lowest salaries in the region. They act like they're doing you a huge favor giving 1-2% raise every few years. The only perks come from other companies in the area which offer discounts to erlanger employees.

Pros

Lots of experience that will prepare me for nursing school.

Cons

Honestly, it's just adjusting to night shift.

Pros

Rotating through the different units allows a baby nurse to broaden their perspective; to see what each role does within the hospital. The GNT is supported by the nurse leaders, educators and nursing staff.

Cons

NOT ALL PRECEPTORS are the example of what you want to emulate as a nurse. Some preceptors will just leave you and you will have to make the experience up for yourself.
