Pros

Fantastic patient outcomes. Therapist who care about the patients and maximize the time the patient is allowed to stay. Therapist were well paid as were any of the staff members who filled the beds, the marketing and admissions people. The company didn't seem to value anyone else. Good time off policy and insurance benefits.

Cons

There are many with the main one being the hypocrisy of what the company says it was founded on, their famous guiding principles, vs the reality. Managers and directors being allowed to bully and harass their subordinates with executive aware of it and not doing anything to stop it. I saw many people leave because they couldn't tolerate the poor treatment. Nursing staff is either very good or horrible with little middle ground. The therapy staff were the golden children and perhaps that's why nursing and support staff were so mediocre. The therapists were allowed to be disrespectful to all the other staff and had little to no respect for the nurses. The regional positions were a joke. They were apparently appointed positions and violated every tenant of human resources fair practices. It's surprising that they haven't been sued for this practice. Most everyone in upper management has worked together for years coming from Health South. They claim they wanted to start a company that was better than HS, but it looks like they've just slapped a new name on the same tired and unhealthy work environment practices. The work life balance is only balanced for the some of the lower level jobs such as housekeeping and dietary services. Everyone else works much harder than peers at like types of institutions. Profit means everything and they work employees to the bone. God forbid if anyone doesn't clock out and overtime is accrued. However, it's impossible to get all the work that must be done in nursing without either marginalizing patient care or working off the clock to get the work done.
