Pros
If you like working alone with minimal collaboration, you will get plenty of that.
Cons
First of all, the 4.2 rating and the 80% CEO approval numbers on here are WILDLY misleading and honestly, the pattern around the reviews is hard to ignore. Every time a real, critical review shows up, two glowing, generic, copy and paste reviews appear a few days later to bury it. Maybe it's a coincidence, but I highly doubt it. I'm going to be honest here because I wish someone had been honest with me before I took this job. Actually, I wish several someones had been honest with me, but they all quit or were fired before they had the chance. The culture they sell you during the interview process is complete fiction. They talk endlessly about how important culture is, but the reality is you're completely isolated. Management loves to encourage "ownership" and "autonomy" but the second you make a decision or propose an idea, it gets torn apart. Everything you do gets questioned or refuted. In fact, the feedback situation is abysmal. It's only ever criticism and contradictory directions. You'll work late on something because it's supposedly urgent, then get questioned the next day about why you weren't focused on something else instead. The priorities change constantly with zero communication. Good luck getting timely responses on anything you actually need to do your job. Requests go unanswered for extended periods across multiple channels, then you get blamed for not being persistent enough. The gaslighting is absolutely real. There's a serious "emperor has no clothes" vibe where people will spend hours trying to decipher an email from the CEO instead of asking for clarification because they are afraid of him. THAT's what the culture of Essnova is. I tried to make it work, but this place is not it. The work environment is isolating, demoralizing, and VERY toxic. I'd encourage anyone looking at this company to read through the reviews carefully and notice any patterns. Draw your own conclusions about what might be going on.
