Pros

Since the beginning of my technician career, my end goal has always been to end up at an advanced care emergency and specialty hospital. I was looking for a hospital with the opportunities to learn and grow my technical skills and knowledge as well as advance within my career. I applied to Veterinary Specialty Hospital North County with the intention of making this company my long term home. I have been with the company a little over 6 years now and am still in love with my career. Although times can be tough as with any hospital, the employees and culture at VSH NC are truly something special!

Cons

As with any hospital, staffing has been a struggle, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. However, our management team is great at keeping us updated and feeling supported. No matter how bad of a day, I know that I can rely on my coworkers and management teams to get me through it!

Pros

People you work with are fantastic. The medicine is high quality. If you are a hard worker and team player, you can spend years here building your career.

Cons

The high-up leadership and C-suite never had clear communication of the direction of the company. Because of this changes happen overnight and you are left to adapt quickly. It is pulling teeth to do your work because there are so many road blocks and approvals and levels of "managers" with egos to get through which slows progress and innovation. There are many managers and people not in correct roles. Even with managers and leads, unsure who is really in charge. Lots of layoffs across all corporate roles quite often.
