Pros

- The leadership team genuinely cares to develop an inviting, safe, comfortable environment for their employees by offering some of the most exceptional benefits out there and creating public forums for questions to be surfaced and answered - The flexibility in aspects like hours, work modes, and even therapy or childcare during typical working hours is a game-changer - It's easy to feel proud of the product offering and to feel like your company is truly doing good in the world - Most of the employees are genuinely kind people - Despite layoffs, the DEI team and ERGs are still fully staffed and functioning which is promising

Cons

- Extremely risk-averse, even more-so since the recent layoffs of 225 people. They say they want to be innovative, but the red-tape and endless approval cycles make forward motion nearly impossible for many teams. - Learning & Development often takes a back seat. Etsy is most comfortable with people continuing to do what they were hired to do for years, and it's extremely challenging (even as a top performer) to help with projects that assist with other departments or to receive promotions. This has been reinforced by the Director of Growth & Development being one of the people laid off. - There is a clear disconnect in what executive leadership perceives to be the working experience of most employees and the true experience (barriers to entry, access to leadership, ability to push projects forward, etc) - The "Etsy nice" thing is very real. To provide direct, honest feedback about some of the antiquated systems in place, particularly if led by people who have been at Etsy for years, feels like it can cost you your reputation if not your job.

Pros

cool culture flexible work arrangements, decent pay, cool work.

Cons

outsourcing everything they can, selling all they can for parts, its a sinking ship of a company. keep in mind that they spend more on labor in Mexico city than in USA! What a sham! should be taken off US Stock exchange for that! Loosing users at a steady rate year of year. I'd avoid. no growth opportunity. Not brand vision.
