Pros

-I spent over 10 years with event network and I wouldn't have changed a thing. I started as a sales associate cashier and worked my way up to a store director. -This company offers opportunities to those who work hard for it and it shows. With my time there, I was able to develop three of my sales associates/leads into store directors today. This is something I will always cherish. The company encourages development as its written in their culture. I read some other reviews on here saying otherwise, but it just depends on what type of store director you have. I knew other managers in the company who disregarded development and it reflected on how their team culture was. -Affordable healthcare benefits are hard to come by. Having spent so many years with the company, you begin to forget the cost of healthcare benefits elsewhere. Event network has a great affordable plan as well as ways to reduce costs if you participate in their wellness program. -This retail environment is unlike any others I had worked in. I worked in big-box retail for 5+ years and event network does not compare. This is a different retail demographic. The company cares about the employees and how they are treated. They will listen to concerns and investigate issues as long as your manager is transparent. I’ve seen other store directors hide issues and it reflected in their store culture. Event network has an open-door policy so those team members can communicate issues to any member of management. But it's understanding they may fear retaliation in some way. The company also has an anonymous phone number as well as an anonymous suggestion box so issues could be shared through those means. -I had a wonderful relationship with my VP. She let me run my business and did not micromanage. I learned so much from her as she spent time with me to run through reports, discuss the team, and areas of opportunity in the business. -Visual standards are important to the business. The company spends money to ensure standards are met and held accountable. -I had a wonderful team that I worked with. I miss being able to work with them as we all worked well together. Even the company team at the store support centers in San Diego and Park City were great to work with. I developed so many meaningful relationships with the individuals that you would just not see in any other retail environment.

Cons

-There were some "good" people and not "great" people. After reading other reviews I can see how these were good people but who were not willing to go to being "great." I use this in a sense from the book Good to Great by Jim Collins. He says how the right people are self-motivate and self-disciplined to focus on the company's core competency. These people may have been good hires, but not necessarily great. -Issues in stores can be hidden because a store director may not reveal it. Since majority of communication from VP's go through the store director, issues can be buried leaving a poorly cultured store -I would request product that guests would ask for daily. But the product would never come in. Yet, we would get in product that we knew wouldn't sell and it ends up going on clearance. I wish the trust from store directors to purchasing was there. -Once you become a store director, it is hard to move up. I wish there were regional roles as the regional support was lacking. -I've heard of another VP's micromanaging. It makes store directors feel like they cannot do their jobs correctly.

Pros

I love working at EN because there is always something new to expand my knowledge of the business and I’ve found it’s a very supportive environment. I’ve always felt supported and appreciated by my bosses at this company. There are always new challenges to creatively solve. I always leave my store feeling a sense of accomplishment.

Cons

Mostly part time for all team members below AD which can make hiring a challenge

Pros

The locations. The talented hard working in store teams who keep these store running despite this company not because of.

Cons

Event Network is an overly bloated company weighed down by layers of constantly rotating middle management who often lack the knowledge, experience, or authority to effectively support stores. They also just don't care about their employees whatsoever. They turn what could be exceptional jobs in world-class locations into frustrating, exhausting, demoralizing, toxic experiences. The company is chronically disorganized and poorly managed. Communication is inconsistent, expectations constantly change, and support is virtually nonexistent. Working here eventually takes a toll on your mental health, morale, and professional integrity. If you genuinely care about your team, you will find yourself fighting unnecessary battles simply to provide employees with the resources, staffing, and compensation they deserve. Those efforts are routinely blocked by corporate bureaucracy, only to be followed by endless lectures about the company's "culture" and "values." The disconnect is shocking. There is no consistency, accountability, or respect. Decisions are driven entirely by cutting costs, always at the expense of employees. Wages are shockingly low; turnover remains, unsurprisingly, high. There is no end to the "cons" list.
