Pros
I had a fantastic experience at Pure for many years. The people were amazing to work with, and the company fostered a collaborative, supportive environment. There was a strong sense of camaraderie, and I genuinely looked forward to coming into work each day. The culture was open and inclusive, and the work-life balance was great.
Cons
Over time, the company’s culture and direction began to shift. The hiring of toxic leaders was a major turning point—those in leadership positions started prioritizing their egos over the wellbeing of employees, leading to constant internal conflicts. This toxicity trickled down, and what was once a positive, people-first company started to lose its human side. Leadership started fighting amongst themselves, leaving employees without clear direction or a sense of purpose. Communication from the top became disjointed, and decisions felt like they were made without considering the impact on employees. The lack of resources and the steady decline in support made it difficult to maintain morale and stay motivated. It became harder to deliver quality work as the company's focus shifted away from its employees. The company once had a clear vision and strong leadership, but that vision got lost over time, leaving many of us feeling directionless and undervalued. It's unfortunate to see such a great company go through this transition.
