Pros

Most people here are quite smart, friendly, and I enjoyed a fair amount of laughs. I really liked quite a few of my coworkers. Decent salary.

Cons

When I accepted my offer to work here I knew what I was getting myself into, but I needed the bump in salary and thought of this place as a stepping stone. A stone I quickly jumped from. First off, ALL of these negative reviews are 100% honest and accurate. In the months I worked at Everspring I would say 15-20 people quit, 5 of them in my small department alone. If that doesn't tell management something is fundamentally wrong with the way their company is running, I don't know what will. My department was extremely understaffed, run like an agency with it's head cut off, one bossy person who isn't the boss of anyone is allowed to micromanage the living daylights out of everyone and makes all of us miserable, but at least we all can agree on that... No one has anyone's back - it's all about doing what you can to cover your own rear end, there's a big "not my job" attitude, internal communication is like an echo chamber management is in to just hear themselves talk and they never ever hear the peons - peons with masters degrees and deep knowledge or bright ideas. It's true, the CEOs do yell audibly at each other, which should be embarrassing to operate on that level, but they don't actually have genuine contact with their lesser employees so... They tell you you have 3 weeks vacation, but it's just earned hourly and not actually part of your salaried position. There's no maternity/paternity leave, sick days are part of your 3 weeks earned vacation, and while the office is upgraded from the last one, it feels like a call center. The health care is not good and you'll have to shell out money for basic services at the doctor. Over all, my time here was spent doing work no one really cared about, being bossed around and bullied by someone management has made no attempt to stop, and like the majority of my coworkers looking for other work. This place was a step up in salary, but a step down in my career and frankly, my better judgement. Thankfully, it taught me quite a bit about what I'm not looking for - if you like not having a real job description so it's up for interpretation and your work dictated to you and then micromanaged to death followed by doing it over because no one communicated the right information and lastly in a confused, hostile environment with free La Croix, well saddle up my friend, Everspring is for you!

We appreciate your feedback. I’m happy to hear that you enjoyed the “smart and friendly” Everspring team (we agree!), and am sorry that your overall experience did not match your expectations. We are proud of what the Everspring team is building and work hard to make Everspring a great place. I want to address inaccuracies in your post regarding employee attrition and Everspring benefits. With respect to attrition, Everspring’s companywide retention is very strong, with annual employee turnover rates that are half those of comparable companies. The number of employees who have chosen to leave Everspring is far smaller than claimed in your post. Specifically, the number you note is greater than the total number of people who have chosen to leave Everspring in the past year across all departments combined. Similarly, we have not had anywhere near 5 resignations in the Technology group in this period. We value and support our team in developing their careers with Everspring, and our strong employee retention suggests that our team values these opportunities as well. As part of our efforts to support our employees, we seek to provide benefits that are valued by the greatest proportion of our team. Although we are a new and relatively small company, we have prioritized providing excellent health benefits and a flexible paid time off package. Industry benchmarks and data on national averages shows that Everspring’s benefits plans are in line with – and on many dimensions better than – those of comparable companies and national averages. We use a top tier provider (Blue Cross Blue Shield), and proudly pay a greater share of the plan costs than most companies, thus leaving our employees with a smaller out-of-pocket share and more cash in hand. In terms of paid time off, Everspring offers a comparatively generous and flexible paid time off program when compared to other companies in our industry and of similar size, thus giving our team options about how to use their PTO. Thank you for the time you spent with Everspring. We wish you good luck in your next position. If you have additional feedback regarding areas in which Everspring can improve, please reach out to me directly.

Pros

The best boss I’ve ever had was at this job. I love that the job is mostly remote, but there are some in person opportunities. I always felt supported and fairly compensated.

Cons

We’re required to come in twice a month. I wish it wasn’t a requirement, just strongly encouraged.

Pros

Nice office, free coffee and snacks Work From Home Stepping Stone Some nice coworkers

Cons

Terrible work-life balance Will have you managing a huge account, almost basically on your own, and your managers (plural) will either be so burnt out that they cannot help you or so obsessed with looking good for the CEO that they disregard you and pile on more work Layoffs (twice in a calendar year now), where they’ll move the extra work to an already burnt out team Low Pay, Laughable Raises No place for growth Pushes to complete the “Chicago Great Places to Work” survey with positive remarks because that’s one of the only things making them look good to new hires
