Pros
-Remote like 90% of the time - in office 2 days per month -Office is centrally located to transit for in-office days -Free snacks and soda in office -People are nice
Cons
-The benefits package is VERY expensive compared to other tech companies/education jobs. I was pretty surprised to have such a big chunk taken out of my pay. -The hours are also very long. Competitors operate on an 8-4 or 9-5 day, but admissions counselors at Everspring work 8-5, 9-6, or 10-7. This makes for pretty long days. -You will be pushed to make a large number of calls per day. You will also have metrics about how many calls every person on the team has made sent to you several times per day. Feels very "call-center" like in this way, which was not how the job was sold to me. If you are "underperforming" for a chunk of the day, they will check in and ask why. -While you are never told to "push" people to apply, you are trained in sales techniques and the internal language is less around "prospective students"/"applicants"/"matriculation", and more "leads"/"opportunities"/"wins". In that way, it feels a lot more like you are selling a program for $$$ than advising a prospective student about their education.
