Pros

I have absolutely loved Evolve for several years, hence my tenure here. I’ve worked on many different teams and have met so many wonderful people. The culture is great, benefits are awesome, team events are fun, and my job is actually pretty easy & fun. So, why the three stars…

Cons

Evolve has really started going downhill as of late. There have been two layoffs (2020 & 2023). While 2020 is a bit more understandable due to COVID-19, to have it happen again in 2023 is complete unacceptable. There was a hiring spree between the two layoffs to keep up with an increase in travel and, thus, volume, but the employees hired were clearly expendable. Instead of hiring fewer and training better, it was a mass hiring spree of bodies to answer calls with no real understanding of the role. And then when layoffs happened, it wasn’t those people that go let go, it was people who had put their heart and sole into the company for YEARS. My friends, faces of the company, people doing great work… just gone. There was no rhyme or reason other than laying off tenured people to save money. To go through multiple layoffs takes a mental toll that is hard to come back from. Another thing I really think needs improvement is repercussions for poor work. It’s been mentioned in other reviews but you will not be reprimanded for losing the company money doing the wrong process. Nor, will you be recognized for doing the correct process and excelling at your role. You’re just there to do the work and that’s it. While the culture is great, don’t expect a bonus or any sort of reward for working hard. It makes motivation drop and it’s harder to clock in each day. Overall, my experience with Evolve has been a positive one but these reviews were much better a year or two ago. Leadership needs to look into the actual issues going on and focus less on the quantitative goals.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We’re glad to hear about all of the reasons you love Evolve and are grateful for the time you’ve spent as our teammate. We understand that as a tenured Evolver, you’ve seen many iterations of our company, and while some are understandably more difficult than others, all have been made with the intent to create a better business for our owners, guests, and teammates alike. It takes a great team to run a successful business, and we strongly encourage you to speak with your manager or People Business Partner to shine a light on anything that has negatively impacted your experience.

Thanks for sharing your experience, and we're glad you enjoyed your role as a VRA. This team plays a crucial role in delivering for our owners and guests. We hold high expectations for all teams and wouldn't characterize VRA work as easy, but we do hope it's always manageable and allows Evolvers to thrive within and outside of Evolve.

Pros

Wonderful teammates that quickly become the only reason you stick with Evolve, outside of a steady paycheck.

Cons

Too many to list truly. This company is grasping at straws to survive in the short-term vacation rental industry; despite being manhandled at every turn by "partner" companies such as Airbnb. The company is literally always changing the goal post and then blaming the frontline team for not meeting their insane expectations. You will deal with multiple shift bids during the year, mainly to follow their random firing/layoffs that they wish to keep quiet. Constant system changes, staff changes and new responsibilities that are often rushed and not yet ready to be implemented, and an incredible lack of care from leadership. Nonexistent training for all of the new responsibilities you will take on after the layoff of an important team. By the time I left in April 2026, I had taken on partner services, guest support, owner support, listing optimization, booking management, damage claims for substantial incident reports and more. All of which you are expected to complete with back to back inbound calls to uphold the "customer-obsession" role. When they have decided to put you and at least 5 other teammates on the same chopping block, they will claim you were "avoiding work" or "on a call too long" to avoid any accountability for the drastic amount of issues at this company. I have had 7 MANAGERS within a 3.5 year span. If you absolutely have to work here, the only way to get through it is to completely disassociate and be sure to use your 10 EAP sessions...
