-Layoffs (4) in 4 years--> I completely understand the ramifications of covid on this industry and having to resort to a layoff but it was the same story 4 times over. They told the entire company they were financially healthy 'the balance sheet is strong' and layoffs were announced shortly thereafter. This is followed by a period of over-hiring, incredibly poor forecasting, and then you guessed it more layoffs=rinse and repeat. Again, I can understand missing a forecast for revenue, prop growth, etc but they were nowhere in the ballpark for years and these missed targets resulted in unrealistic expectations for the sales team. The layoffs also disproportionately got rid of very tenured people on many teams. That could be due to higher salaries, better benefits for those individuals but it also seems like they don't want to retain anyone who remembers how Evolve was when they actually had vision and a culture and cared for employees.
-Toxic Sales culture--> Terrible culture in the sales org with a lot of turnover and as previously mentioned almost impossible to hit goals for all but the top 10% of reps who are given the best leads. The ROE (rules of engagement) are a joke and followed by nobody. It's a wild west mentality where people will lie, steal, change information and do anything to swipe leads and accounts. The best part is you can catch them red handed provide evidence, and there are zero consequences for those responsible parties. The commission switch to a % to goal payout was also just another way for the company to save money and short hard working reps. They change commission and then set goals you would need to work 30 days a month to have a chance to hit.
-High Turnover and no accountability--> High turnover on a lot of teams all the way to the top. In the last year, the CFO, Head of the People Team, IT Director, Director of the entire CS Org have all left on their own accord. During the many layoffs there was almost no accountability from the C Suite and they all kept their jobs. The CEO has lost all respect and belief from the majority of employees. He refuses to step down and let someone with the proper experience and leadership turn things around and sadly is letting his ego run the company off a cliff. It's not a knock on him, he had several good years but the company grew so fast and he is no longer equipped to lead a company of this size.
