* Absolutely no transparency across the board. Period!. Don’t know what cloud team is working on, what cool new features engineering is working on!. One has to push the other and make sure the general enthusiasm of the team is alive. I don’t see that happening.
* Engineering is core for the company to go to the next stage. Its the foundation. It does not matter if you have a kick-ass sales or product team but if the engineering team is not aligned with the market or what product team demands then it does not matter!
* Engineering has made some hasty decisions and that has affected some key lead players to leave the organization. If there are no good engineer leads, what good is a reorganization!. This in turn will affect other members in the team and they are left with no motivation. This is a hard problem to solve in any company but you can't just come into the company and make organizations changes without digging deeper!.
* Sad to see some good lead engineers leave the company.
* All-hands meeting seems like a big deal since it happens once in a while and we are left with no new or rather motivating info. IMO, not everyone are interested in knowing what was presented to the board to that great extent; some good nuggets are enough and you don’t want to rush with everyone’s presentation. Make it lively with some few good examples from sales wins and let people remember with the positives.
* Seriously! Still there is no true anonymous Q&A session! Ahh! How difficult is that to make.
* Engineering head/management is not aligned with the general health of the innovation. Not seen a roadmap where there is clear vision for engineering. This is critical for a growing company and not seen it. Atleast not publicly!
* I think there has to be a CHIEF STRATEGIST in the company it it wants to be thought leader in the space. Cannot just be reactive to the issues and do maintenance. Exabeam has a great product – innovate and push products to the next level.
* Strategist is very important. Exabeam has wasted a lot of time in designing the whole data collection piece; Exabeam already had the initial world class UEBA technology and they could have redesigned, incorporated key functionality and made it even more broader and scalable. They could have put in engineers to the core platform and could have enhanced it and commanded premium price for their platform. Not a single innovative feature on the flagship product that they have built on. Forget what Gartner or any other analysts says, you command and have them listen to you since you are the innovator!!! Be one!
* Data Collection and analytics is not a easy problem to solve.. There are many companies in the space and Exabeam has some unique advantages. No doubt about that. But what pains me is that they could have been in a much much better position had they made some key decisions! Sales is great, but product innovation has to go beyond !
* Organization shuffle is good, but IMO, it doesn't seem to align with other teams.
* Don’t put all your eggs and TIME in A customer maintenance project, let it go and move on.
