Pros

Experian (specifically the business unit that I work within) has so far proved to be a great career springboard for me and others to climb the professional ladder. I originally joined the company as a placement student (in the 3rd year of my degree) and was offered a full-time contract before returning to university to complete my course. This meant I could focus on the final year of university without the uncertainty of employment following graduation. In addition to this I found myself needing to take long-term sick leave a few years ago and the company looked after me well whilst I was off (even allowing me to keep my company car for this period and arranging a fundraiser event to support a charity that looked after me in this time.) Some other great positives about my employment at Experian include great benefits (corporate discounts, holiday purchase/selling options, share-save scheme), good salary, focused development plans, company car scheme, annual black-tie Xmas party, end of financial year party, regular social activities and free lunch options once a week. Overall, the organisation is a big one, and the experience varies a lot from team-to-team and office-to-office, so my advice to prospective candidates is to try and meet the team wherever possible as it's people that make the biggest difference. However my experience of working for a small business unit within a larger organisation has been a very positive one, and I would actively recommend them as an employer to others.

Cons

As with many organisations, there are challenges with Experian's decision to outsource its IT management to a 3rd party (it often takes longer than necessary to resolve an issue.) The pace of change for some parts of the business can be hard to deal with at times. The organisation is currently restructuring and this has recently lead to some redundancies and operational challenges (e.g. office move, switching to hot-desking and more) but these have been largely well communicated.

Pros

Currently a mostly remote culture. Most folks are incredibly nice.

Cons

Immature and underprepared leadership and lots of clique behaviors from them.
