Typical Retail Job - Anonymous employee Express Employee Review

EXTREMELY anal about how the clothes were folded. I'm talking weirdly anal! I would spend 2 hours folding one section. Closing took waaaay longer than average. The mall would close at 9pm, I wouldn't leave til 11:45pm. I'm by no means lazy, I just feel that the company loses A LOT of money by wasting it on silly things. They discouraged building relationships with customers. If you spent more than 5 minutes on one customer, you're doing something wrong. They care more about conversion, which is good, but I remember trying to sell an overpriced suit to a guy and they pretty much pushed me onto some woman who didn't even buy the 3 tanks she tried on.
