Pros

- 30% discount for part time, 40% full time (this is more than most companies give). maybe 2-4 times a year you get an extra 15% off - keep up with latest fashions and have an "affordable" place to shop with discounts - you choose your availability and, at least at my store, college/high school students have a good chance of being hired - if you are good, they will give you more hours, but hours vary from week to week

Cons

- You should expect to stay at least 1-2 hours after your shift is supposed to end, especially when doing overnight floor sets. you don't always get to leave when they tell you can leave - managers make it very, very difficult to get your shifts covered, they tend to not approve them. - you need to reach certain quotas and goals, which is not bad, but may be stressful when having a slow day - NO benefits or bonuses - sales associates are paid minimum wage ($7.25) and the only way to raise that is to become a "fashion expert" which is not encouraged by managers, you have to fight for it or threaten to leave - managers do not encourage you to move up in the company or make an advance in your career - it is an incredible amount of work and time compared to the small amount you are paid - balancing work life, school life, and social life is extremely difficult because the job eats up all your time. - if you are new, you may only get 5-10 hours average a week. hours tend to vary. - no set schedule. you only receive your weekly schedule a week in advance, it's hard to plan your life around that - i've been working for the company for one year, i handle the floor sales as well as the registers and they say that i am one of their most valued employeed. even still, i have had no raise or promotion and it doesnt seem like i will be getting one anytime soon

Pros

Could manage the business as I saw fit as through the lens of a business owner

Cons

Training was minimal and in a location very different than my future store. Staff I inherited was horrible and leadership was not transparent about the status of the store in regards to profitability and issues within the store or company for that matter. Company declared bankruptcy about 5 months after I started and closed my location. Not a great experience.
