Pros
I know it might sound cheesy, stating in the title that this company is like a family, but it is remarkable. There are a lot of referrals in this company and much of the leadership has worked together for a long time. In some cases more than a decade. This means a lot of interpersonal relationship issues have been worked out years ago and a lot of people have been friends in and out of work for years. The end result is this company treats everyone with respect, can be playful and fun, and can do all of this without a bunch of discomfort. It's a very pleasant environment to work and operate in. Beyond the general comfort, people operate with integrity here. This comes from the top down and the bottom up. Everyone owns their work, including mistakes. I hear honest reasons and not excuses for things. People do what they commit to or they inform you ahead of time if something has changed and they can't. This results in a lot of workplace predictability. You can depend on these people. For the aspiring engineers: this is the single most elegant and sophisticated code base I've worked in. Bleeding edge technologies handled with care. Just the right levels of abstraction, always a desire to improve things while avoiding a loss of productivity.
Cons
It's a company in a hyper-growth phase, so not all the kinks are worked out in terms of planning, process and coordination. If you're looking for a wild, hair-on-fire startup experience this isn't it. Things are exciting, but controlled. Work is more predictable than not and there's no megalomaniac shouting crazy things and switching directions constantly.
