Pros
The work is challenging, interesting, and engaging. You are doing different tasks most days and the people you work with are nothing short of outstanding. The pay is best in industry, although ExxonMobil does not do bonuses, and the benefits are great.
Cons
Work-life balance is poor and you are expected to do whatever it takes when production is down or business planning is due with little to no regard for the rest of your workload during those times. There is a lot of red tape and churn when trying to get things done and the work efficiency is bureaucratic at best. ExxonMobil investors are also interested in seeing the most results for the leanest operational costs and lowest headcount in the industry, so much of the company business is aligned with this model.
