Pros
Great coworkers who will prove invaluable when it comes to commiserating
Cons
Where to even begin? In order to exceed expectations you’ll have to be burnt out 24/7 and sacrifice countless hours of your personal life/weekends. That is if they like you. If they don’t and they see you working late nights or weekends, they’ll say it’s because you have poor time management skills. Do not expect your direct manager to advocate for you, or even be honest with you about your performance. If you’re a woman, expect sexist micro aggressions daily. Do not expect your mental well-being to be important to your manager or employer. Corporate has invested in a healthcare plan that has dismal mental wellness benefits. Expect an overall tone deafness from the top down as to how current events may impact minority employees - this is a company that sent out a quarterly financial earnings report literally while the US Capital was being stormed by insurgents and one that seems to feel that it doesn’t need to acknowledge a rise in AAPI hate/racism and how that impacts its many Asian employees. Raises are minimal - 1-3% annually. They’ll try to entice you with negligible bonuses and worthless stock options. If you somehow end up a favorite amongst management, you will likely thrive and advance quickly. Working here was nothing short of traumatic and I would strongly advise applicants/interviewees to straight up run in the opposite direction.
