Pros

I had great colleagues with whom I shared genuine comradeship. My managers were also decent and encouraging. Personally I was given a lot of opportunity for fast progression and went from intern to manager in a couple of year. However this feels like an exceptional thing due to the turnover of employees and the lack of offshore centres at the time. I don't think its something you can expect were you join now in London.

Cons

Too much focus on growing margins by cost-cutting, offshoring. Not enough investment in products which means most are losing market share over time and brand value is decreasing. The integrations between products is weak. The mid-level management has almost no control over level of investment in their products and it feels like they are just managing a decline / treading water. As a result the most competent and ambitious individuals move on fairly quickly.

Pros

Nine years of complex engineering challenges and professional growth. Strong camaraderie with talented colleagues across various engineering teams. Opportunities to work on high-impact projects and scalable infrastructure. Gained significant experience in complex system architecture and troubleshooting.

Cons

Abrupt end to a nine-year tenure without adequate transition or transparency. Heavy reliance on an aging, legacy tech stack that hinders innovation. Contradictory AI strategy: leadership mandates aggressive adoption while refusing to fund the necessary compute and tools for teams to actually implement it. Extreme short-term focus on EPS maximization at the direct expense of long-term stability and product health.

Pros

Great people Strong client base

Cons

- Lack of strategic alignment at the top of the house. - Senior Executives and VP’s are out of touch with the real work and forced to make changes that do not align with business goals - Internal mobility decline. Employees are only able to accept internal positions if they reside near an office/hub. As a result of this we are losing great talent for other orgs.
