Great management, but Corporate red tape prevents a lot of progress from being made. - Anonymous employee FIS Employee Review

Pros

Management is very fair and allows autonomy because they trust their employees. Since the Metavante/FIS merger, few REAL decisions and forward progress is ever made because of all of the hoops to jump through at the corporate level. This leads some employees feeling that the company is failing to support career growth opportunities. You end up feeling like just another worker bee in the sea of 30,000 employees instead of a valued team member. Again, I feel this is really at the corporate level and that the middle/senior managers do what they can, but their hands are tied. I do think our CEO is very down to earth and is genuinely interested in how things operate at the local office level. He could never be on the TV series "Undercover Boss" because too many of us have met him in person! That's saying a lot, I think.

Cons

Again, you must be extremely persistent to get what you want and it will take time. Be very clear what you want and expect when you negotiate a salary/bonus with this company. I was used to getting almost immediate recognition/incentive for reaching operational goals and milestones at my last job. Here, it's a "good job" and you're on to the next project. "Good Job" is not a big enough carrot to keep me loyal to a company. There has to be incentives of SOME kind in order to breed loyalty and servitude.
