Pros
Location is good. Easy to coast because it is a mess internally. Not too hard to be a star.
Cons
The company is falling apart from the inside and senior management has been either ignoring the issue or ineffective at managing it. Top talent is fleeing and there is serious retention issues. Standard internal processes are breaking down (IT support, Payroll calculations, etc.) because everyone is stretched far too thin. The culture emphasizes individuality at the expense of the group so there is aggression, self-serving motives, and unproductive conflict (back stabbing, "turf" wars). It is a strange place to work -- there is open dismay and disagreement with management's direction and no real leadership, leading many to just survive or leave (there is a large belief that it is just waiting until the company is sold). The culture can be exemplified by the punitive nature of internal policies (mandatory vesting periods, non-prorated clawback clauses, low vacation, mediocre benefits) - there are plenty of companies in the area who are able to incentivize through positive, less restrictive policies and retain talent.
