Pros
Good focus on standardization of products and development of personnel.
Cons
Worked for FMC for over 9 years and was recently cut during a recent layoff. In the later years with the company I worked frequently with engineers FMC utilized in design centers located in low cost countries like India and Poland. Prior to being cut I was in a transition period where I was promised another job provided I close out my previous. Part of this consisted training a replacement for myself in India. I not only willingly did this I also traveled to and from India via sub-company policy fares saving the company over $8000 on this trip alone. 3 weeks after my returned I was greeted with a layoff. I understand the market is shrinking and people are being cut from various areas but this is a complete example of using somebody. I do not believe this to be an example of the core values, one of which was valuing people, which were preached to employees so regularly.
