Pros
Very good place to begin working for mechanical engineers. Pure core job and fmc being leader in subsea with 70% market share, and the most innovative, means you really get challenging and pioneering tasks. You don't need any soft skills, or need to sell yourself. This being an oem, it relies only on good engineers. The issue in India office is people comparing their salaries with google and microsoft and not with companies like tata motors and mahindra and bajaj, which are mechanical. Initial package is normal but once you prove yourself, you get salary hikes of 20% and above and will reach six digit within 4-5 years. But very few have the zeal to first perform and then being rewarded, every one here wants the salary first.
Cons
Management is not really keen to ensure proper justice. It waits for the people who cry , shout and rewards them. The performers sit in a corner honestly working, without much hue and cry, but in the end the people who cry and have GOOD TERMS WITH management &PERCEIVED BEING AN EXPERT WITHOUT ACTUALLY BEING ONE, get almost the same treatment and opportunities ( in some teams much more) than actual stars. This is the biggest demoraliZing factor in an otherwise wonderful company. Also because the managers have lost touch with engineering and are not able to judge good from ordinary, hence are fooled by words.
